Avian Conservation Institute

Enhancing Avian Education for Responsible Bird Ownership
The Avian Academy is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for exotic birds through community education, owner training, and university outreach programs. Our mission is to promote responsible parrot ownership, advance wildlife conservation awareness, and improve the welfare of exotic birds by providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Through interactive classes, school programs, and community workshops, we inspire individuals to become informed and responsible stewards of avian species, ensuring a better future for captive and wild birds.

About the Avian Conservation Institute
At the Avian Conservation Institute, we are committed to providing education and conservation resources to support bird owners, conservationists, and young learners. Our mission is to promote avian welfare by offering valuable tools, knowledge, and guidance to the avian community.
Our Story
The inspiration behind this foundation comes from Avi-cado—Avi for short—a beloved green-cheeked conure who brought joy and companionship to my life. During the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, Avi became a cherished member of my family, deepening my appreciation for the intelligence, affection, and entertainment that birds bring into our lives.
Tragically, due to my own lack of knowledge at the time, Avi was critically injured while attempting to interact with a dog.
Despite my efforts, he passed away in my hands—a heartbreaking loss that could have been prevented with
better education and awareness.
Our Purpose
The Avian Conservation Institute was founded to prevent such tragedies and ensure that all bird enthusiasts—new and experienced—have access to the knowledge, resources, and community support needed to provide their feathered companions with a safe, happy, and healthy life. Through education and advocacy, we strive to build a future where every bird is given the care, respect, and protection it deserves.
Join us in honoring Avi’s legacy by empowering bird lovers everywhere with the tools to create a better world for their flocks.
